This personal project was created in response to a request for proposal from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. "Records for Health" was a call to redesign children's health records in impoverished countries. Many of these countries have health records that are confusing to both healthcare workers and parents. Innovation is desperately needed in order to improve the quality of care.
My solution is a 12 page booklet with a wrap around cover. This new health record is divided with the first section geared towards healthcare workers and the back toward the parents. Custom illustrations were created to address the possibility that parents might be illiterate. These drawings instruct parents about warning signs, breastfeeding, malaria prevention, etc. This design was awarded into the semifinal round of selections.
